"NORTHCOAST OHIO CITIES BLOG"
Review of businesses and products found in the Northcoast area.
Lake Erie is the smallest, shallowest and warmest of the five Great Lakes. Its shores connect four states and two countries. The Ohio lakeshore consists of dozens of cities and towns such as Port Clinton, Oak Harbor, Marblehead, Catawaba and Sandusky. Many of these communities were built by agriculture that was nurtured by Lake Erie. It was also an invaluable natural resource that sparked the nation's industrial development and it played a major role in the transportation of goods and materials to the world. Lake Erie and its resources shaped where and how Native Americans, European explorers and pioneers settled in this country.
Today, the cities along Lake Erie, like Castalia, Bellevue and Vermilion along with the islands of Put-in-Bay and Kelleys offer a great deal to their residents and to tourists. From fantastic restaurants, to great shopping to beautiful lodging.
The Northcoast Ohio Cities site is designed to give you information about the history of these towns and what they have to offer now. Bellevue, Catawba, Clyde, Fremont, Huron, Kelleys Island, Marblehead, Milan, Norwalk, Oak Harbor, Port Clinton, Put in Bay, Sandusky and Vermilion were and will always be a great place to live and visit.
Here you will be able to access information about the schools, kid's activites at the YMCA or the Fair, the local attractions like Cedar Point, Kalahari and the Hayes Memorial, entertainment at places such as the State Theatre or the Bellevue Society of the Arts, emergency listings for all of the cities, events happening in the area through the city calendar and much more.

Around 14,000 years ago, the Laurentide glacier started to retreat and melt because of warmer temperatures. The geological changes that this caused resulted in the formation of the Great Lakes.
Today the Great Lakes are still changing in shape and size because of the rebounding of the earth's crust, erosion and climate changes making the lakes a dynamic, evolving system.
The Great Lakes are the youngest natural features on the North American continent.
