Take a look into the past through the lives of Civil War heros at the Clyde Heritage Museum and General McPherson's home,

Clyde County Fair held in September includes amusement rides, games, concessions, free entertainment, baby contest, 5K run, parade and more.

The Community Park on Race Street offers ice skating with a concession stand to those who love the winter weather.

There are a total of 5 parks in Clyde though, so you are sure to find just what you are looking for.   The parks have baseball diamonds, tennis courts, volleyball courts, shelter houses, playground equipment and much more. 

The Recreation Department offers programs all year long for both children and adults and the new Aquatic Center is the perfect place to be on the long hot days of summer. 
Did You Know?
Captain Charles H. McCleary (1842-1906) was a Civil War hero from Clyde whose acts of bravery earned him a medal of honor and a personal audience with President Linclon. Rodger W. Young (1918-1943), also from Clyde won the Congressional Medal of Honor for his bravery in World War II.

Built in 1833, The McPherson home is located on the corner of Maple Street and McPherson HIghway, directly across from the monument erected to honor General McPherson in McPherson Cemetery

General James B. McPherson was born in 1828. He was raised in Clyde and graduated first in his class from West Point Academy. While leading his Union troops in the battle of Atlanta he was mortally wounded. Many of the General's and his family's personal belongings are on display in the home.
