There are other benefits of working than just an income.  Children under 12 can learn money management, business skills, and responsibility by working on weekends or during the summer. Before he/she gets started, take time to discuss the details and responsibilities of each job.  It is important to choose the one that is most suited to them.

Make a list of possible customers that would need his/her services: family, friends, neighbors, teachers, etc. He/She can also advertise his job search by placing fliers at local grocery stores, laundry mats, restaurants or posting an ad in the local newspaper.
